Women and Girls safe space funding for Morley parks

In June 2023, Leeds City Council secured £176,433 from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to deliver a project under the women and girls outreach programme to contribute to the regions Local Invest Plan (LIP) for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). There are a number of interventions, outputs and outcomes that will be delivered under the Women and Girls Outreach Project (Leeds). Activity will take place through women-friendly park and public realm development through specific consultation work with the Women and Girls Alliance Leeds. Two of the Morley Town Deal projects have been allocated UKSPF to deliver a newly designed area for women and girls using some of the design principles from the ‘Safer Parks’ guidance document. Hembrigg Park has been identified as one of the first schemes.

Women and Girls Alliance Leeds will be in Hembrigg Park this Wednesday (1st November) between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. They would like to hear your thoughts on the proposed new space for women and girls. They’ll be wearing purple high-vis so you’ll be able to spot them!

If you're unable to attend Wednesday's event, you can still have you say by completing the online survey here.

Have your say on how we can make Hembrigg Park a better space for women and girls.
